Bernadette is a 68-year-old widow from Kildare and a retired medical secretary. Her hobbies include knitting, crochet, cross stitch embroidery and diamond art.

Having received her transplant in 2020, this is Bernadette’s first Games and she sees her participation as a chance to leave her comfort zone and get involved in something that is new to her. She is looking forward to meeting a group of people who have had a similar experience to herself. She is also looking forward to travelling all the way to Australia as she has never travelled that far before.
