Connie Brosnan is a kidney transplant recipient (2007) from Killarney, Co. Kerry. Con will compete in the 60-69 category in the
following events:
- Golf Singles
- Golf Team
- Petanque Singles
Con Brosnan from Killarney is the only Kerryman on this year’s Transplant Team Ireland panel for the World Transplant Games. Father of two, Con, underwent a kidney transplant in 2007. Since then Con has been a keen supporter of the Irish Kidney Association and works tirelessly in a voluntary capacity on behalf of the organisation in his role as Kerry Branch Chairperson. Throughout the summer months he and his branch Secretary Teresa Looney manage the IKA’s holiday home in Tralee.
This will be Con’s second outing with Transplant Team Ireland. When Dublin was host for the 2010 European Games, Con won a Silver medal in his favourite sport, Golf.
Con will participate in Golf singles and the Golf team event in Malaga.
Con said, “I’m looking forward to the games in Malaga. I was very unwell before my transplant and life is good now and I am glad to be alive and be able to show my appreciation to my donor by taking part in the Games”.
