Emma O’Sullivan – Limerick

Emma O’Sullivan has had two kidney transplants, receiving her most recent in 2001. She resides in Glin, Co. Limerick with her husband John and her son Ewan.

Emma will be competing at this year’s World Transplant Games in the 40-49 years category in the following events:

  • 5k Mini-Marathon
  • Track & Field – 100m
  • Track & Field – 200m
  • Track & Field – 4x100m Relay
  • Ten Pin Bowling Singles
  • Ten Pin Bowling Doubles (partnering with Paul Prendergast)

Emma has previously represented Team Ireland in World and European Games from 2004 until 2007, and then competed again in 2010 in Dublin.  She decided to get back into training for last year’s European Transplant and Dialysis Sports Championships in Italy 2018.

A keen gym-goer, Emma is the youngest in her family with two older sisters and an older brother.

She says, “I am looking forward to getting away and meeting new friends.  The Team is like a second family.’
