Matthew is a kidney transplant recipient from Co Mayo and he will be competing in the 18-29 years age category in
the following events:
- Track & Field – 100m
- Track & Field – 4x100m Relay
- Badminton Singles
- Table Tennis (Singles)
- Table Tennis (Doubles)
- 10 Pin Bowling (Singles)
He recently turned 18 and lives at home in knock with is his 3 siblings. Matthew will be going into leaving cert this September and hopes to do a course in either dentistry or health informatics,- preferably in a college in Dublin. He is an outgoing and self-confident, he does not allow his illness to define him. He has a part time job at the Shrine Office in his local parish, Knock. Matthews hobbies include table tennis which he has won several county and Connaught medals and even two All-Ireland medals at! He also plays a bit of gaelic football with his local club.
